Accelerator Engineering Fellowships for Underrepresented Minorities (ASPIRE)

Accelerator Science Program to Increase Representation in Engineering, or ASPIRE, is a Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory fellowship providing immersive learning experiences, at Fermilab, to undergraduate and graduate (masters) engineering students, who are historically and contemporarily underrepresented in accelerator engineering fields, including Black, LatinX, and Indigenous identities, and women. ASPIRE is a partnership between Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory and all US colleges and universities, initially with Northern Illinois University.

GEM Fellowship Program (Graduate)

Logo for The GEM Fellowship ProgramFermilab is a member of The National GEM Consortium. The consortium’s primary focus is to administer and award fellowships with paid internships to highly qualified historically underrepresented students to pursue graduate studies in engineering or science. GEM fellowships include paid summer internships that provide the ideal opportunity for tomorrow’s science and technical leaders to gain firsthand research and work experience at partner companies and institutions, such as Fermilab.
